IKCU Animation Film Days
IKCU Animation Film Days is organized by The Faculty of Art and Design at Izmir Katip Celebi University on November 16-20, at the IKCU Main Hall, Izmir, Turkiye. The event aims to support animated films and to provide young filmmakers to present their work both on national and international platforms. The festival is created by a crew of young independent filmmakers who want to show quality short films from around the globe.
Any frame by frame or computer assisted film or video may be entered. Films can be colored or black and white.
The application is free and open for filmmakers from all ages and nationalities.
The event accepts films in every genre, on any topic, from every country around the world.
Participants have to send their film visual by using the Online Application Form. We ask artists to submit their works in a very simple way, just send your proposal via wetransfer platform until October 20th, 2020 (use e-mail email@example.com).
All films will be screened in their original language with Turkish or English subtitles. If the film is in another language there should be subtitles and subtitles language is preferred to be in English. If your film has dialogue that is not English and is not subtitled, you must include an English dialogue script.
Films must be no longer than 30 minutes (including credits) and must be recorded in the “PAL” system. Movies can be submitted in MPEG2, MOV, H.264 format.
There are no limits to the number of entries a filmmaker may enter, but these have to be submitted separately. Due to space limitations, not all pieces are guaranteed to be hung.
Each participating artist will receive a certificate of attendance and a digital exhibition catalog.
Films that are approved by the pre-selection jury will be shown within the festival program. The Festival Committee reserves the right to exclude films that do not have the necessary technical specifics for the screening.
The film owner has all the copyright responsibility. Authenticity of the stated information in the application form and any legal problem that can be encountered, are under the responsibility of the signature holder. All copyright infringement claims that can come from the third parties as a result of the unoriginal content (text, music, image, etc.) in the work submitted are under the responsibility of the applicant (legal owner or sales representative).
There is no entry or registration fee.
The applicants who complete the application form are deemed to have accepted all the conditions specified in the specification. By submitting a film to the IKCU Animation Film Days the sender consents to the film being screened at the festival. It is no longer possible to retract the film from festival inclusion once the application form has been sent. It is the responsibility of the sender to ensure that permission has been obtained from all appropriate parties before submitting a film.
