About

  • ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The Faculty of Art and Design at Izmir Katip Celebi University are pleased to invite you to participate in “International İKÇÜ ART FESTIVAL” on November 17-20, at the IKCU Art Gallery, Izmir, Turkiye. Once famous for figs, Izmir (formerly Smyrna), is now Turkiye’s 3rd-largest city, the “capital” of the Aegean region, a major port and commercial center set dramatically around a huge bay and backed by mountains to the south. Izmir is the inheritor of almost 3,500 years of urban past, and possibly up to that much more in terms of advanced human settlement patterns.

The arts festival lasts the three-day and includes exhibitions, workshops, film screening, as well as performances by guest artists and academics who are specialists in these fields. The festival also helps many international artists in gaining recognition their artworks in Turkiye. We wish to invite visual artists to submit their artworks of various media such as graphic design, drawings, illustrations, printmaking, cartooning and graffiti, Infographic, photographs, video & new media art, and mixed media.

IkcuArt Fest brings together both rapidly growing creative talent and local and international artists under one roof. Our aim is to create a meaningful experience for our participating artists, performers, and visitors. We would like to encourage you to work closely together with us and also to create the program with us. The following organizations have each compiled a detailed and informative list of resources for artists in need of support.

Please take care of yourself and know we look forward to collaborating with you.
